Episode 98 - The Podtinels are Back!

   Welcome back Book Clubbers! We are deeply entrenched in X-Country, and Episode 100 is right around the corner! Are you ready for the madcap adventures that are headed your way? I don't think so Blue Retrievers!
   First up today we have X-Men 159 and... Vampires! Although I think our good buddy Chris C may have watched Cat People a few too many times before sitting down to pen this one, it is great! Spooky, brooding, and art by a master in his early days, Bill Sienkiewicz! Every time I see this book it reminds me we are closing in on the Demon Bear Saga.
   Next up is X-Men 160. Shower time! And another first appearance in an X-Book, but this time it is in the book, as Limbo shows up for the first time. Some other folks do to, but you will have to listen in for that!

Episode 97 - My Brother, My Pod!

In this weeks' episode of the House of X Book Club, we jump into some action packed action of the highest order! 
   First off, we get into X-Men 158, where Carol Danvers kick the leg out of the leg of all of the Starjammers! Then she, Wolverine, and Storm break into the Pentagon to steal the Declaration of Independence! No! They break in so they can erase the X-Men from the government databanks! But they run into trouble as some old enemies are there as well! What are they up to, and do the X-Men stand a chance at getting away?
   Next up is Spider-Man 230. After almost murdering Madame Web, Juggernaut decides to take a walk. He wanders around like a halfling on a quest to smelt unwanted jewelry. Lots of walking and talking to trees. Some real revelations are made amongst the crew, but you will have to listen to find out what they are!

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends - The X-Men Adventure!

Another Saturday, and another episode of The House of X Book Club arrives! This week is very special, as the gang is mostly together live and in person! And we have another watch along we hope you will join us for!
   Today, we are watching the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends episode titled The X-Men Adventure! It features the X-Men! Some of the voice cast are interesting choices, but at least they are able to make it clear that Charles is evil. Consistency is important kids.

Episode 96 - It's the Pod of the Demon!

X-Men in Space! It doesn't have quite the ring that Pigs does, but we make due with what we have, because what we have is still really cool!
   We have a great double header for you! First up, we dive into the space faring adventures of our beloved X-Men. In number 157, Kitty tries on more outfits than Wolverine has back hairs! Also, Scott and Corsair join the rest of the Starjammers in repairing the Starjammer. Also Professor X Probes himself for a change, and finds a big surprise!
   Next up is Amazing Spider-Man 229, and Spider-Man makes a mess of things, with the help of his new pal Juggernaut! Those two wacky kids get up to all kinds of shenanigans, and almost kill Madame Web! Plus they have ice cream!

Episode 95 - You Must Pod Warhunt!

Did you know that there was once a superhero named The Red Bee and he fought Nazis using bees? I feel like the beekeepers of the world need to step up and give us some mighty bee justice in modern times!
   We have another great show for you! Two great X-Books in one great pod! First up is Uncanny X-Men 155. Guest starring Tigra! And the Brood! Corsair is here too, but I don't think anyone on the Quite Council would say he was a guest. Or a star. Irritating twat waffle would be the term most likely used. Also, murder happens!
   Next up is X-Men 156. An X-Man dies, but gets better, like they tend to do. Also, Corsair tries to connect with Scott, but he's still being mopey. There were only two Summers brothers at this time, and it may have been better that way. The gene pool starts to get really shallow once three and four roll into town. Also, Charles' bird girlfriend makes royal decrees and steals his salmon. Life in space can get really weird. Listen in to see who's eye Lillandra tries to peck out! Or does she? Episode 94 - Man, that Count Nefaira sure talks a lot!

Welcome back Book Clubbers! We hope summer has treated you well. Sorry your trash cans melted again this year Arizona. What is that, like, 147 years in a row now?
We have a great couple of books here for you. First up is Uncanny 153. Kitty Pryde tells a bedtime story to Illyana, so she can go to sleep. This one's got everything: Wolverine as the Tasmanian Devil, Storm trapped in a bottle, Kurt as a cute and cuddly stuffed animal (please ignore the sexual harassment!) And Professor X as a good guy. You know, lots of fiction!
Next up is X-Men 154. With the return of the Starjammers! Well, the sleazy one at least. Corsair shows up and drops the dad bomb on Scott, then tries to drop a bomb on a power plant to kill some abstract alien bug things! The rest of the Starjammers are noticeably absent, and the crew is that much sadder for it. Plus, Charles is still in a coma, or asleep, or plotting to lock his brother in the sex dungeon again. Even when he's out, he's up to something...

Episode 93 - When Mutants Pod!

Another week, another episode of the House of X Book Club killing you hearing if you listen at high decibels. Fun fact, Drew laughs all the way through every episode, but it is so high pitched only dogs and xenomorphs can hear it. 
Anyway, we have a couple of great books for you this week!
First up we dive into X-Men 151. In typical 80s fashion, Kitty's parents decide that she will no longer be attending Chucks school. and will instead be heading over to the Massachusetts Academy, headed up by none other than Emma Frost. So there's like 8% less bondage and mind wiping than the The School for Gifted Youngsters. So like any good 80s movie, wackiness ensues! This one has everything; body swapping, explosive cabinets, and Colossus flirts with a CHILD!
Next up is Uncanny X-Men 152, X Harder! The Hellfire break in continues, literally. The brain swappin' gun has Storm and Emma Frost in each other's bodies, like some Freaky Friday fever dream Professor X has on a Saturday night after eating too much chili. Everyone bags on the Hellfire Guard, And we find out everything that happens in this same comic ten years from now is al Wolverine's fault. Also, Kitty and Storm as Emma come to terms with their relationship and EmmaStorm learns her how to B&E telepathically! This issue has a more breaking and entering than any other X-Book to date, so listen in to find out all the details!

Episode 92 - Pod Raven Lives Again!

Welcome back, Children of Krakoa, as we dig into another two exciting books about those Men (and Women) of X!
   First up, Uncanny X-Men Annual #5. We start out with the Fantastic Four checking into a lady with a laser gun, and things get weird from there. You've got your invisible aliens, Invisible Girls, and Storm having dreams of interdimensional Civil War. And then the sixth page really gets cooking! This one packs it in so strap down tight or she may throw ya!
   Next up is Avengers annual #10 and the circus is in town! At least that is what the cover is trying to sell. The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants stop by, Carol Danvers is mind controlled into leaving our world and shacking up with her son in another dimension, and the Avengers just let her mind controlled self do it. It's a convoluted tale to be sure, but it's also the first appearance of Rogue, and you can tell she's up to no good because her haircut is TERRIBLE!!! This emotional roller coaster of a book almost made Roger and Drew come to virtual blows so make sure and listen to the very end!
