Or maybe the coloring technology wasn't as good back in the day, I can't remember! Welcome back book clubbers! We have got a banger of an episode for you today! We discuss the many faces of Roger's eyebrows, as well as comic books! X-Men 23 and Avengers 13 to be precise. The battle with the Spider-Man J tier villains continues for what seems LIKE AN ETERNITY, and Porcupine may have committed a sex crime as he keeps asking The Unicorn if he wants to see how his pricker works. And in Avengers number 13, we meet Count Nefaria for the first time, so Iron Man and his gang are to blame for this whole mess. Current comic readers will recognize our buddy the count from New Mutants Lethal Legion, but it will be a while before we get to those books. The Dungeon of Doom also makes its first appearance. This is a real dungeon, not Kevin Sullivan and his Lethal Legion bent on the destruction of Hulkamania! Will the X-Men survive? What heinous crimes will Professor X commit? How will Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage survive the Tower of Terror match against 8 other men? You will have to listen to find out! (WCW results from 1996 are not discussed during this episode)

Today on the House of X The Quiet Council digs deep into some X-Men lore. We talk about numbers 21 and 22. Lucifer brings us Dominus, the machine that can only be defeated by Professor X in a really bad Gandalf cosplay. And in issue 22, the X-Men encounter Count Nefaria and a list of Spider-Man B team villains that can only be described as... meh. I guess Count Nefaria spent his entire budget moving his castle to America piece by piece and didn't have anything left to score a Doc Oc or Green Goblin for this one. All this, plus the sulkiest team leader to ever grace a comic book in no way makes a move for the woman he loves. Way to bring the whole vibe down Cyclops!
